I came for a week so see my cousin as we are getting old now. The hotel is grand, not like the standard hotels .on arrival was given room 313 on the 3rd floor . When l entered the room, the towels were on the bed but were still wet and looked in wardrobe to find that the safe had been taken out .but on Web, it says safe in room .l went to the front desk, and the very nice reception lady upgraded me to room 301 with a safe .and gave me three breakfast vouchers, marvellous 😋.. I had dinner and breakfast in restaurant it marvellous services, and it was outstanding. eye to detail, the breakfast management was great, so helpful as l am classed as disabled helped me carry my plate in the morning. The swimming and gym outstanding 👌 But the cleaner of the room was poor 😕 from day one l was in my room when she came to make up room she asked if l would like room made up which l said yes she just pulled back sheets that is not making the bed and l have been here 7 nights not once as the sheets been changed nor leave l had fresh milk sashes or biscuits left had to go down to reception each day .nor could l clean my toilet as there was not a brush as l have had lots of operation a use the toilet 3 times a day there are skid marks down the back and not once as it been cleaned l even left seat open it did not help .there is black mould growing in the shower, which can be treated by the room maid. It is her job . I did say to the young man on the front desk about the room maid He replied that we would do an investigation 🔎 Overall, the only one thing which lets the hotel down is the maid young English girl..

Birthday Break- Fabulous Time. I love this Hotel and it's beautiful decor, the lounge and dining area is perfect to relax in with coffee or a wine. I requested a quiet room if possible and I was given my request, baring in mind this is a city centre hotel and right by the train station so expect some noise, you ain't in the countryside! I still managed to sleep well. I love the charm of this Hotel and it's original features, I booked a last minute two night break for my birthday and I had the best time. I made use of the Spa facilities, jacuzzi, pool, sauna, steam room and plunge pool. Great after a days shopping to chill. I also enjoyed my food in the restaurant each evening. The Hotel is central to EVERYTHING. So the location is perfect. I felt totally at ease as a solo traveller and met lots of lovely people within the Hotel. I arrived on my Birthday and I want to give a very special mention to Keira who works in the restaurant, she is a lovely girl who looked after me so well, kind, caring and friendly, she went above and beyond for me, she's a real asset to the hotel. Thanks for making my birthday so special and the lovely surprise on my dessert! Michael made my lattes each morning and brought them to my table, many thanks Michael! Not forgetting Christine who was fantastic with me, helping carry my bags out of the door for my train. I will certainly be back soon and I hope to see the lovely staff again. It'll be my place of choice even for coffee or a wine if I'm passing by. Also absolutely stunning Christmas Decorations, visiting this time of year is a must! Thank you All!

Thought had been given to the provision in the room. There was obviously a kettle with tea/coffee and a TV (never switched it on so no comment on that). But also - a fridge, a hairdryer not-tied-to-the-wall, a desk with a decent big mirror with a light over it, an iron and an ironing board, and a safe. There were little sachets of actual milk in the fridge, and nice biscuits. Oh yes - and a fan in the wardrobe, although that was not necessary in March. So all very well considered - possibly by a woman! - to provide the extra touches that make for a comfortable and easy stay. Others have mentioned noise. I was at the front of the hotel more or less over the entrance; with the window and the double glazing shut I was very very distantly aware of some voices in the street - and that was on a day when there had been 150,000 people in the streets of Newcastle for a football victory parade. So that wasn’t a problem. If it had been – a drawer contained a note from the hotel and a little packet of earplugs. The huge station car park is but yards from the back door of the hotel. I was there to attend a wedding whose reception was in the hotel itself - beautiful room and the food was very good.

I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of the hotel. Many of these old buildings suffer from numerous issues but this one is lovely. Yes, it has very minor niggles , like the original sash windows that don't seal tightly but who cares?!? It adds to the charm of a magnificent building. The decor is amazing. It feels like we walked straight into a luxurious 1910 atmosphere. I loved that. Our room was huge and fully equipped. The staff are professional, courteous and efficient ; the breakfast was lovely and included in the room rate. An excellent choice for a bargain rate. I'd stay here again without a second thought. We didn't use the leisure facilities but maybe next time.

Absolutely great location, perfect for when you’ve got loads of luggage, just got off the train and want to quickly check in and lie down! Gorgeous room, such a comfy bed. Really nice bathroom too! Everything was so clean and everything worked perfectly. Love the complimentary coffee, milk and biscuits. Really great bonus is the added gym facilities on site, we checked out left our luggage with reception and went to the gym in the morning to cure our hangover in the cold plunge and sauna, such a treat! Lovely restaurant/bar downstairs too. Highly recommend and all the staff were so lovely. Perfect stay in Newcastle!
